Confirmed: Celtic line-up v Motherwell - Ambrose starts, Griffiths on the bench

Here is how Celtic will line up to face Motherwell this afternoon...

Celtic starting XI: Gordon; Ambrose, Boyata, Blackett, Izaguirre; Brown, Bitton; Commons, Rogic, Armstrong; Ciftci.

Celtic substitutes: Bailly, Tierney, Lustig, McGregor, Griffiths, Mackay-Steven, Stokes.

The international break is over and Celtic make the trip to Fir Park to take on Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership this afternoon.

Motherwell are under new management having re-appointed Mark McGhee earlier this week, and his first game in a charge poses the daunting task of facing champions Celtic this afternoon.

Following Aberdeen's defeat to Ross County on Friday, the Bhoys are now just one point off top spot, and a win today can finally take them back to the summit of the Scottish Premiership.

Manager Ronny Deila has handed a recall to Nigerian defender Efe Ambrose, despite question marks over his recent performances in the back line, and he will come in at right back, with Dedryck Boyata and Tyler Blackett remaining at centre back.

Nadir Ciftci is handed a start in attack, with Leigh Griffiths left on the bench, whilst Kris Commons, Tom Rogic and Stuart Armstrong will form an attacking midfield trio this afternoon.

With other options such as Callum McGregor, Gary Mackay-Steven and Anthony Stokes at Deila's disposal this afternoon, Celtic will certainly feel that they have enough firepower to come away with all three points against Motherwell.
