HITC Sport understands Wycombe Wanderers winger Jason Banton is set to join Hartlepool United on loan.
Former Arsenal and Liverpool youngster Jason Banton is poised to join Hartlepool on loan from League Town rivals Wycombe Wanderers, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Banton only joined Wycombe in the summer after leaving Plymouth Argyle at the end of last season.
The skilful attacker has made seven appearances for Wycombe this season, scoring his first goal for the club against old club Plymouth last month.
Banton has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in Gareth Ainsworth's side, though, and Hartlepool boss Ronnie Moore has moved quickly to agree a deal to bring him to the Victoria Ground until January.
Banton came through the youth ranks at Arsenal and Blackburn before signing professional terms with Liverpool.
The 22-year-old failed to make the breakthrough at Anfield and joined Leicester City, and while with the Foxes he made his Football League debut during a loan spell at Burton Albion.
He switched to Crystal Palace in the summer of 2012 and his career took off during a loan spell at Plymouth, scoring six goals in 14 appearances.
A loan spell at MK Dons followed in the 2013/14 campaign and he returned to Plymouth last season, making his move permanent in January and playing 40 times in total.
