Darren Ferguson's first act as Doncaster Rovers manager will be to extend Keshi Anderson's loan deal from Crystal Palace, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Anderson initially joined Doncaster on a one-month loan agreement last month and his deal is due to expire next week.
However, Ferguson is keen to keep hold of the forward at the Keepmoat Stadium and the club are ready to extend his loan for the maximum 93-day period, which will see him stay at the club until Boxing Day.
The news will come as a massive boost for Ferguson as he prepares to take charge of the side following his appointment as Paul Dickov's successor earlier this week.
Anderson has made an instant impact at Doncaster following his arrival from Palace, scoring two goals and winning two man of the match awards in three League One games.
Anderson has yet to make a senior appearance for Palace, having joined them from non-league outfit Barton Rovers in February.
The 20-year-old won a move to Palace after netting a hat-trick in a trial game for Brentford against Alan Pardew's outfit and he is highly-regarded within the corridors of power at Selhurst Park.
