“What to make of Newcastle this season?” the former Liverpool striker wrote on Colossusbets.com. "A look at the league table and their 6-1 capitulation at Man City last time immediately makes you feel that they are a lost cause, even at this stage of the campaign. They appear to lack fight. And the loss of goalkeeper Krul for the season is a big blow.
“But if they had held on to their 2-0 lead against Chelsea at home last month perhaps that would have kick-started their season, and that performance shows at least that they aren’t all bad.
“Visitors Norwich have started the season well enough and, a 3-0 defeat at Southampton, have actually done really well on the road, drawing at West Ham and Liverpool and winning at Sunderland.
“In truth, no outcome would surprise me in this match. But I fancy goals, so I go 1-1 and Any Other Draw (AOD).”
Newcastle are still searching for their first win of the season, having made a terrible start to the 2015-16 Premier League campaign.
The Magpies will head into the game on the back of a 6-1 hammering at the hands of Manchester City away from home at the Etihad Stadium in the league.
Steve McClaren’s side are at the foot of the Premier League table at the moment with just three points from eight matches.
Meanwhile, Norwich, who got promoted from the Championship at the end of last season, are currently 13th in the standings with nine points from eight games.
