Both Gomez and Ings are set to miss the rest of the 2015-16 campaign due to knee injuries.
While 18-year-old defender Gomez suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during an England Under-21 game, former Burnley forward Ings picked up a similar problem in training with Liverpool (as reported by BBC Sport in two separate reports).
Brazil international defender midfielder Lucas hopes that the Liverpool duo recover soon and has sent them the following message on social media:
It is been a hard days for these two. I have been trough this and I know how you feel but I am sure… https://t.co/8ClLs3q2Mc— Lucas Leiva (@LucasLeiva87) October 15, 2015
