The Sunderland loanee is still getting up to scratch.
Leeds United take on Brighton this weekend with the aim of breaking their current horrid run of form at Elland Road. They have not won at home since February and need to perform at their best to get one over on the Seagulls who are, pun intended, soaring.
One man who will love to face Brighton at Leeds will be Will Buckley. The winger, on loan from Sunderland, is a former Brighton player who left for Sunderland to join up with his former boss on the South Coast Gus Poyet.
Buckley is set to feature in the game. The wide man is fit enough now for 90 minutes, which was confirmed by Leeds boss Uwe Rosler today.
He told his pre-match press conference - as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post - that Buckley is ready for 90 minutes after two weeks of hard work on his fitness, but could not yet play twice in three days if called upon.
"We knew he would need time. He is coming on. He is ready to start. 90 minutes every 3 days? I don't think so."
Rosler needs to decide whether Buckley is starting this weekend. He has Stuart Dallas and Jordan Botaka available in the wide positions, with both impressing during the international break with their respective nations.
Whether either have recovered both physically and mentally in time for Brighton will remain to be seen.
