Can forgotten man Jose Enrique make his way back into the Liverpool team under Jurgen Klopp?

The Spaniard defender might get a chance with injury and management changes working in his favour.

Liverpool have been dealt a blow this week in the injury department. Not only did Danny Ings get ruled out for the season yesterday but the previous day saw defender Joe Gomez ruled out for the entire campaign as well with the same injury, a ruptured cruciate knee ligament.

With John Flanagan expected to be out until the new year Liverpool find themselves short in the full-back position.

Could that pave the way for the return of a forgotten Liverpool defender?

Jose Enrique has not even been a bit-part player under Brendan Rodgers recently. His last appearance came against Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup back in January.

Injuries have played their part but he is currently fit and is simply out of the picture.

But with the current injury troubles at Liverpool and a change in manager can Enrique make his back into the reckoning?

He is the type of player that Klopp likes. An attacking minded defender who can get up and down the pitch with ease he would fit in to the German's style of play nicely.

However he has been out of the action for some time and his form at Liverpool has never been the thing of fables. He might be able to convince Klopp if he stays fit that he has a place at Anfield in the years to come. But don't hold your breath.
