Here are a few examples of how candidates fouled up at interview:
One candidate dozed off, and actually started to snore.
The candidate told the interviewer that her long-term career goal was to replace him.
One interviewee stretched out on the floor to fill out an application form.
Another interviewee brought her large dog to the interview.
A candidate wore a walkman, and said that she could listen to the interviewer and the music at the same time!
A balding candidate abruptly excused himself, and returned to the interviewer's office a few minutes later wearing a hairpiece.
The candidate explained that she hadn't managed to fit in lunch, and proceeded to eat a hamburger and fries during the interview.
And how about graduate interviewees ?
One came to an interview dressed in a sequined suit with a gold cowboy hat, and white boots.
Another spoke on her cell phone for 38 of the 45 minute interview.
Yet another entered the interview room chewing gum, and proceeded to stick it under the interview desk when he thought no-one was looking.
And finally, a student at a career fair came up to a stand and indicated very confidently that he could market the company's product. The company designed nuclear weapons!
