Celtic manager Ronny Deila has told the club's official Twitter account that Carlton Cole hasn't been training with the ball of late.
Bhoys manager Deila brought in one striker over the summer with Nadir Ciftci arriving from Dundee United, but the departure of Stefan Scepovic to Getafe has left him slightly short of options in attack.
With the transfer window closed, the options available to Deila in the transfer market are somewhat limited, but one player has been attempting to win a deal with the club.
Carlton Cole, 32, left West Ham at the end of last season, and is now looking to impress Deila and earn a contract to stay with Celtic permanently, having been training with the club for almost a month now.
However, a recent injury has put the deal on ice - and Deila has told the club's official Twitter account that whilst Cole is indeed still with Celtic, he hasn't trained properly for a while, meaning the deal hasn't progressed any further.

Deila's update may not be quite what Celtic fans had hoped to hear, but it's clear that Cole's lack of training is posing problems with this potential deal.
Almost a month in to Cole's trial, Celtic appear to be no closer to a deal - and unless he can regain his fitness in the near future, the Bhoys may have to look elsewhere as they search for a new striker.
