Lucas, Moreno and Sturridge will be key for Liverpool against Spurs

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur go head-to-head this weekend.

Liverpool travel to White Hart Lane on Saturday as Jurgen Klopp takes charge of the Reds for the first time since replacing Brendan Rodgers.

Liverpool are currently 10th in the Premier League but a couple of victories and things will quickly change; something that could well happen following the former Borussia Dortmund manager’s arrival.

Here we take a look at three Liverpool players who will be key for the club this weekend:

Daniel Sturridge

With Christian Benteke, Roberto Firmino and Danny Ings unavailable, the pressure will be on Daniel Sturridge to score the goals against Tottenham.

Sturridge netted a brace in his last outing against Aston Villa and Klopp will no doubt play the England international from the start two weeks on.

Lucas Leiva

With Tottenham struggling for numbers in central midfield – with Eric Dier suspended and both Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason still injured – that is a battle Liverpool will be quietly confident of winning.

If they do, expect Brazilian Lucas Leiva to be vital and if he plays to his potential he could allow the more creative players around him to shine at White Hart Lane.

Alberto Moreno

With Erik Lamela in sparkling form right now and with Joe Gomez side-lined, it could be up to Alberto Moreno to keep the Argentine international at bay.

A better wing-back than full-back, it remains to be seen how Moreno will be utilised on Saturday but the battle with Lamela could go a long way to deciding the game.
