Liverpool have been stunned by the blow that promising defender Joe Gomez has been ruled out for the season.
The BBC reported that Gomez suffered an ACL injury in England's under-21 side's 3-0 win over Kazakhstan on Tuesday night.
Gomez had been outstanding early in the season after signing from Charlton Athletic in the summer.
Former Liverpool striker Luis Garcia was upset by the news, taking to Twitter to express his sympathy for the teenager.
He was not the only ex-Red to have his say, with Stephen Warnock, now of Championship side Derby County similarly offered his best wishes to the promising talent.

Gomez had hoped to be part of new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp's plans, but must now wait until next season to start making his mark.
The 18-year-old had made five Premier League appearances this season, with one assist, also starting two Europa League games to date.
