Newcastle star Krul has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season due to an injury he picked up on international duty with the Netherlands national team.
The 27-year-old suffered a knee injury during the Netherlands’ Euro 2016 qualifier against Kazakhstan in Astana last weekend.
Krul had to leave the Astana Arena on crutches, and he was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the 2015-16 campaign.
Strootman, who himself has struggled with injuries since joining Roma from PSV in the summer of 2013, has wished his Netherlands international teammate a speedy recovery.
Krul has replied to Strootman on the social networking site, writing: “Thank you, my friend. I can use you as an example.”
...all about it too. Keep strong my friend and I'm sure that your mentality and will power will help to get you back on the pitch soon!— Kevin Strootman (@Kevin_strootman) October 15, 2015
