Efe Ambrose says it wasn't easy to bounce back from his error against Fenerbahce but was delighted the management and his team-mates stood by him in the aftermath.
The 26-year-old was at fault while Celtic led the Turkish side 2-0 and they eventually ended up drawing 2-2 in the Europa League.
And Ambrose admits it was a difficult time for him but says he appreciated the response of those around him - and has promised Celtic fans such mistakes won't be repeated by the Nigerian.
EA on overcoming his error against @Fenerbahce "It wasn't easy. Sometimes as a player you find yourself in those situations." (MH)— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) October 15, 2015
EA: "It can happen to anyone. The most important thing is the gaffer, management, the players stood by me." (MH)— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) October 15, 2015
EA: "I have put that behind me & I will work harder and make sure I won't do it again. You learn from your mistakes. I have moved on." (MH)— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) October 15, 2015
That's a bold promise to make for the Celtic defender, though, considering his history of mistakes and the less-than-surprised reaction of pundits and supporters when it was he who erred against Fenerbahce.
His response has been the correct one, however, and it's one the Bhoys should mirror as a whole.
It was an inconsistent start to the season by Celtic's high standards and there was plenty of disappointment. But, if Ronny Deila's men can move on and mentally wipe the slate clean after the international break, there is no reason they can't enjoy a phenomenal rest of the campaign.
