Charlie Austin, Stephen Warnock and Jamie Vardy send messages to Danny Ings on Twitter

QPR's Austin played with Ings at Burnley, while Derby County’s Warnock is ex-Liverpool defender and Leicester City’s Vardy is an England teammate.

Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin has taken to social networking site Twitter to send Liverpool’s Danny Ings a ‘get well soon’ message.

Liverpool striker Ings has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury, according to BBC Sport.

It has been reported that the 23-year-old suffered a cruciate ligament injury in his first training session with new manager Jurgen Klopp.

Ings joined the Reds in the summer transfer window after leaving Burnley at the end of the 2014-15 season.

It must be a huge blow to the England international, and Austin is disappointed for his former teammate.

QPR striker Austin played with Ings at Burnley and is confident that the Liverpool striker will come back stronger.

Former Liverpool attacker Luis Garcia and ex-Red defender Stephen Warnock, now on the books of Championship side Derby County, have also sent messages to Ings on Twitter, and so has Leicester City striker and England international teammate Jamie Vardy.

Liverpool are 10th in the Premier League table at the moment with 12 points from eight matches, just three points behind fourth-place Crystal Palace.
