The South African is just making his first steps into football coaching.
Manchester United have had their troubles replacing Sir Alex Ferguson since the legendary United manager packed up and retired from the game.
They tried David Moyes and didn't work and while things have improved under Louis van Gaal the Dutchman is not exactly a long-term solution for the management role at United.
In the long-term it looks as though Ryan Giggs is the main contender, but here is a new school of thought right from left-field.
Remember Benni McCarthy?
The South African football legend is well known for his impressive stint in English football at Blackburn Rovers and his rather less magnificent performances with West Ham.
But Benni, who recently took his first coaching role as assistant at Belgian side Sint-Truiden, has admitted he dreams of one day coaching with Manchester United.
He is quoted by Soccer Laduma as stating:
"I dream of arriving in the Premier League.
"And, if possible, at Manchester United, my favourite club since I was little."
Of course the thought of Benni actually managing Manchester United is a little far-fetched for now but in time he might be capable of returning to England and coaching in some role at United or elsewhere in the country.
