Tottenham Hotspur will be without a number of key players for their match against Liverpool.
Tottenham Hotspur have tweeted confirmation that five of their first-team players will be missing for their game against Liverpool on Saturday.
Ryan Mason, Heung-Min Son, Nabil Bentaleb and Alex Pritchard have all lost their respective races to be fit for the match at White Hart Lane, while Eric Dier is suspended.
The news is a bitter blow for Spurs, as it leaves Mauricio Pochettino's options limited.
With Mason, Bentaleb and Dier all out, Tottenham have very few choices over who they can select in defensive midfield, to accompany Dele Alli.
Mousa Demeble and Tom Carroll look the two favourites to land the spot, but neither have played much first-team football this season.
Pochettino's other choices in that position are largely inexperienced, and it would be extremely brave to put a youth-teamer, such as Josh Onomah or Harry Winks, into the starting line-up for such a crucial Premier League contest.
With Son and Pritchard out, Spurs are also significantly weakened going forward, and it will be a tough test for them to get past a Liverpool side who have plenty of momentum behind them following Jurgen Klopp's appointment as manager.
