Arsene Wenger gives injury update ahead of Arsenal's clash with Watford

Emirates Inside

Three Arsenal players could be back from injury in time for the weekend.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been speaking ahead of his side’s Premier League clash against Watford this weekend with his comments later published on the club’s official Twitter account.

Arsenal’s last match before the international break was a 3-0 victory against Manchester United that means they are now just two points behind league leaders Manchester City, but Wenger will know there is plenty of work still to do, starting with the clash against the Hornets.

Arsenal have injury doubts regarding Laurent Koscielny, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini but Wenger hinted that all three could be back at the weekend, although he only mentioned the centre-back by name and there is also now a slight doubt regarding Alexis Sanchez.

“Koscielny faces a fitness test,” the Arsenal boss said. “We have three players that could come back.”

Arsenal are definitely without Danny Welbeck, Tomas Rosicky and Jack Wilshere but it seems they could otherwise have a clean bill of health and that will be vital for the matches to come.

After the Watford game, Arsenal have a huge Champions League clash against Bayern Munich that they simply have to win if they are to stand any chance of reaching the knockout stages.
