The Hammers could do with some cover at right-back.
The international break has passed but the lack of Premier League action meant not much was happening at the clubs up and down the country.
Which means they could begin to start considering where they should improve in the winter.
The January window is, like Christmas, deceptively close, so where should West Ham consider improving when the window reopens.
The Hammers would do well to look at their right-back position when it comes to strengthening.
The club currently have Carl Jenkinson on loan from Arsenal who fills that role perfectly. However, in reserve they rely on Joey O'Brien or playing James Tomkins out of position - neither a great option at this level.
Slaven Bilic needs a right-back of equal or surpassing ability of Jenkinson to make sure he remains on his best form throughout the season and for when he inevitably heads off back to Arsenal at the end of the current campaign.
If West Ham were to do that they would be on the path to having a complete squad capable of battling for those European spots so coveted by the fans and owners.
