The one area Aston Villa need to improve in the January market

Emmanuel Adebayor

Should a striker be brought in to Villa Park?

The international break has passed but the lack of Premier League action meant not much was happening at the clubs up and down the country.

Which means they could begin to start considering where they should improve in the winter.

The January window is, like Christmas, deceptively close, so where should Aston Villa consider improving when the window reopens.

For all their efforts in the transfer market over the summer Villa have not impressed this season.

They brought in plenty of attacking options but so far have only netted eight times this season in eight games.

So should Villa bring in another striker?

Jordan Ayew has not yet fired, Gabriel Agbonlahor has struggled and Rudy Gestede comes with his own limitations.

They were said to be after Emmanuel Adebayor in the summer but could not agree a deal with him and Tottenham Hotspur or the player.

It would seem that a new striker is still a priority for the club with goals at a premium in the absence of Christian Benteke - who joined Liverpool in the summer.

Villa are in need of goals and a new striker might be the solution.
