The Spaniard was very impressed with a YouTube video of the legendary Southampton star.
Today marks the 47th birthday of a man who Southampton fans revere in almost god-like fashion. The deity in question is Matt Le Tissier.
He played for Southampton for his entire professional career despite offers from in the Premier League and from abroad throughout his career as he excelled in the Premier League.
He ended his Southampton career with 539 appearances and 209 goals, including the last ever strike at The Dell.
Now 'Le God' has a new fan - in the shape of a current Southampton player.
Oriol Romeu was signed by Southampton this summer from Chelsea. The 24-year-old had limited opportunities at Chelsea in his four years at the club but impressed whilst on loan at Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart last season.
Now a regular in the Southampton first-team he posted this message on Twitter earlier - which received a fitting response from the Southampton legend:
Now that Romeu knows all about Le Tiss Southampton fans will be hoping he might recreate some of those special moments.
