Report: Manchester United interested in signing Sunderland's Jordan Pickford

Manchester United are said to be interested in Sunderland's Jordan Pickford, with Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa also circling.

According to a report in the Daily Mirror, Manchester United are interested in signing Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

The youngster is yet to make his debut for the Black Cats, but interest in him is already starting to mount, after two impressive loan spells in as many seasons.

Pickford was a mainstay in Bradford City's team last term, where he kept clean sheets aplenty down in League One.

The 21-year-old has since moved to Preston North End on a temporary spell, and his form has been excellent in the Championship, too.

It means that he is now considered one of the finest, young goalkeeping talents in the country and Sunderland face a fight to keep hold of him.

United are apparently one of the Premier League teams interested in signing him, with Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa also said be eyeing a deal by the Chronicle

Sunderland are understood to be keen to keep hold of Pickford, but at the moment Costel Pantilimon remains the number one at the Stadium of Light.
