According to a report in the Daily Record, Celtic are preparing a January move for Emil Berggreen of Eintracht Braunschweig, having seen a deadline day bid for the striker rejected by the German side.
The Bhoys attempted to bring the 22-year-old to Parkhead over the summer transfer window, but were unsuccessful with a £2.25 million bid for the striker on deadline day.
It is well known that Ronny Deila is not convinced with the strikers in his squad, and this would have gone some way to being fixed if Berggreen had moved to Parkhead.
However, Braunschweig rejected the bid, and Celtic are ready to revive interest in their transfer target in the January transfer window.
Who is Emil Berggreen?
The young striker, 22, only moved to Braunschweig in the January transfer window, signing from Hobro IK in his homeland of Denmark. He has started his career in Germany in great form, scoring nine goals in 22 games, including four goals and three assists in eight 2.Bundesliga games this season.
His form has seen him earn a call-up to the senior Denmark side, although he has yet to make his debut for the side.
Considering his importance to the side, it is unlikely that Braunschweig will want to sell the striker, and Celtic will likely have to up their offer of £2.25 million if they truly intend to prise him to Parkhead in January.
