Casper Sloth wasn’t involved as Leeds United’s Under-21s fell to a 1-0 defeat to Watford on Monday afternoon.
Casper Sloth was omitted from the Leeds United under-21 side in their 1-0 defeat to Watford’s under-21 side on Monday afternoon.
The Danish midfielder, who has been in good form for the Leeds youth side, wasn’t named in the under-21 matchday squad for the game against Watford and hasn’t been ruled out through injury.
Following Leeds’ last two results, it could be possible that Uwe Rosler is ready to offer the 23-year-old a way back into the first team picture and sees the coming match against Championship high-flyers Brighton as the perfect opportunity.
Should Rosler look to bring Sloth back into the side?
After the last two results, Rosler should be looking at alternatives in order to keep momentum high and everyone on their toes.
Although Sloth hasn’t featured on the bench for the Whites so far this season, it would send out a bad message if he were to be continually overlooked as he has performed well for the under-21 side.
Despite the more established names in the squad, Rosler should recognise that everyone deserves a chance to prove they are capable, especially when others aren’t performing, and Sloth could be tested against the current table toppers in a bid to fire Leeds up the league standings.
A start would be a big surprise, considering he hasn’t played so far this season. However, a chance off the bench could be the ideal role for the Danish midfielder in this weekend’s game.
