Roy Hodgson has stated that the England international duo will be ready for the clash with the Toffees.
The experienced duo were rested by the Three Lions boss for Euro 2016 qualifiers over the last week, with both of the players carrying minor injuries of late.
The duo were deemed surplus to requirements for the national side given that England had already qualified for next summer’s competition.
However, despite this, Hodgson has stated that both of them are set to be fit and ready to face Roberto Martinez’s men at Goodison Park this weekend.
“From his point of view, and United’s, the rest will do him good,” Hodgson stated about Carrick, as reported by The Liverpool Echo.
“I fully expect to see him and Wayne Rooney fit for United and Louis van Gaal next weekend.”
United will be eager to see the pair fit to face the Toffees this weekend, with the Red Devils in need of a positive result to get their title push back on track.
The Old Trafford outfit were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by rivals Arsenal last time out in arguably the team’s worst performance of the new season.
Everton have proven themselves this season as a team eager to go toe-to-toe with anyone in the division, especially at home where they have already beaten Chelsea this term.
