According to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal are pursuing Ajax's teenage midfielder Riechedly Bazoer ahead of the January transfer window.
Fans were disappointed with the lack of activity from manager Arsene Wenger, with many supporters feeling that the club is still short of options in defensive midfield, despite the emergence of Francis Coquelin.
Now, their wishes may be answers as The Mirror report that Arsenal have sent scouts to the Netherlands in order to scout midfielder Riechedly Bazoer, who is yet another player to be produced from the Ajax conveyor belt of talent.
Bazoer, 18, has played at centre back, defensive midfield and as a box-to-box midfielder during his time at Ajax, where he has been coached up by former Gunners legend Dennis Bergkamp.
With his versatility to play in a number of different roles, Bazoer could be a versatile, young player for Wenger to mould and develop, as he has done so many times previously.
Wenger may also take some advice from Bergkamp on just how good Bazoer is and can be in the future, with the Dutch Under-21 international building a strong reputation over in the Eredivisie.
