Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has sent a tweet as he and some of his Reds teammates prepare for their first training session under new manager Jurgen Klopp.
Sakho posted a picture of himself along with Liverpool teammates Dejan Lovren and Daniel Sturridge and while many of his fellow Reds will not return from international duty until later in the week, the trio had an early chance to impress the former Borussia Dortmund manager.
Klopp’s first match in charge is on Saturday when Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, and it will be interesting to see who gets into his first starting XI.
Sakho is regarded by many Liverpool fans as their best available centre-back while Lovren has come in for plenty of criticism since arriving from Southampton in 2014, but only time will tell who Klopp opts for until he gets to know all the players in his ranks a little better.
Sturridge is one player who should blossom under the German, and after the England international’s brace against Aston Villa earlier this month, he will no doubt be hoping to maintain that form to keep his place ahead of some exciting alternative attacking options at Liverpool right now.
