Newcastle United attacker Haris Vuckic has tweeted after he returned to action for loan club Wigan Athletic’s Development Squad this week.
The 23-year-old suffered an ankle injury against Port Vale earlier in the campaign and missed Wigan’s next five matches, but the Slovenian took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon to comment on his 30-minute outing for the Latics’ young side against Shrewsbury.
Wigan won 4-0 and while Vuckic did not get on the score-sheet he was clearly happy with his participation, writing, "Thirty minutes today! Good result 4:0. Keep working hard."
The Newcastle attacking midfielder-cum-striker spent last season on loan at Rangers where he excelled, scoring nine goals in 22 matches. This season he remained in England but due to his early setback he is yet to really get going at Wigan.
It remains to be seen if Vuckic has any significant future at Newcastle considering the regularity with which he is now being sent out on loan. But there could yet be a few more twists in the tale for a player who is clearly a threat when fit and firing.
