Manchester United one of four top clubs tracking Napoli's Jorginho - report

Napoli

Sport Mediaset claim that the Old Trafford outfit are monitoring the Brazilian star’s contract situation.

Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Napoli midfielder Jorginho’s contract situation according to Sport Mediaset, with both the English giants and PSG reportedly keen on the gifted star.

The Brazilian deep-lying playmaker rose through the ranks at Hellas Verona and was part of the team that excelled in the club’s first season back in Serie A.

The South American’s industrious and creative performances captured the imagination, with Napoli winning the race for his signature in 2014.

Despite Jorginho having two-and-a-half years left on his current deal at San Paolo, Sport Mediaset state that a host of clubs are ready to make a move if he becomes available.

The Italian source state that both AC Milan and Juventus are tracking the 23-year-old, while Paris Saint-German are also keen on the gifted midfielder.

United have a host of central midfield options currently, but with both Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger not getting any younger there is certainly scope for a successor.

Napoli’s absence from the current Champions League suggests that some of their players could well be tempted away, while United’s financial muscle would certainly play a role in signing Jorginho if their interest was confirmed.
