The West Bromwich Albion teenager netted a cracker at the weekend.
While some of West Bromwich Albion’s first-team stars were concentrating on international matters this week, one of their most talented young prospects was having a match to remember for the Baggies’ under-18s.
More appearances will surely come sooner rather than later, but for now he is focusing on the under-21s and the under-18, and his goal for the latter age-group on Saturday was a sight to behold.
Leko, who is predominantly a right winger but can also play on the opposite flank or up front, collected the ball 30 yards out, ran at and beat four Blackburn Rovers defenders and unleashed a shot that flew into the top corner.
It was yet more evidence of Leko’s talent and after he was called into the squad for the Premier League clash against Arsenal at the end of last season, it may not be too much longer before he gets his first taste of top flight action under West Brom boss Tony Pulis.
