Habibou has sent a message to the Leeds United support.
Taking to his personal Twitter account, Habib Habibou has sent a message to the Leeds United support, showing his love for the Elland Road club.
Habibou certainly appears to miss his time at Elland Road, but it is hard to imagine any fans remembering the 28-year-old’s spell in Yorkshire with anything other than hilarity.
The striker signed for the Whites in January 2013, agreeing a six-month loan spell with the option to move permanently, from Belgium club Zulte Waregem.
However, his good scoring record in Belgium did not translate well to the Championship, and he failed to hit the back of the net in any of the four games he played.
He only started one game during his time at Elland Road, and it was no surprise that Leeds did not choose to sign him permanently at the end of the loan deal.
He has since gone on to play for Gent and Stade Rennais, and it is with the French side that he currently turns out for - playing one Ligue 1 game this season.
Despite his lack of success at Elland Road, clearly the Leeds support had a positive effect upon Habibou, and it would come as no surprise to see him back at the club in the future - watching a game, rather than playing one.
