West Brom reportedly ready to move for Ignacio Camacho in January following injury return

West Brom - The Hawthorns

West Bromwich Albion are said to be ready to move for the defensive midfielder.

According to a report from Spanish newspaper AS, West Bromwich Albion remain interested in Malaga midfielder Ignacio Camacho and will make a renewed effort to sign him now he is in the final stages of recovery from a recent operation.

As cited by the report, West Brom were interested in the 25-year-old during the summer but he would soon have surgery on his pelvis that ruled him out of the start of the new season.

However, AS claims West Brom still want the defensive midfielder and will make a fresh move in January provided the player returns to full fitness as expected, with Camacho tipped to feature for his club this weekend.

Camacho has played 140 matches for Malaga to date, scoring 13 goals and providing six assists in the process, and he previously turned out for Atletico Madrid, featuring 50 times in total.

The once-capped Spain international would be a fine addition to West Brom’s squad but he will not come cheap, with a contract until the summer of 2019 and a £14.8million release-clause. But the Baggies can certainly afford that and it will be interesting to see if manager Tony Pulis makes his move in the January transfer window.
