The Newcastle United stopper will not play again this season.
Some of Newcastle United’s players have sent messages of support to Tim Krul after the goalkeeper was ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury.
Krul suffered the blow when he was playing for the Netherlands against Kazakhstan at the weekend, and the BBC have since reported that the 27-year-old will not play again this season.
It is a huge blow for Newcastle who are currently bottom of the Premier League with just three points from their first eight matches.
That awful run of form means Steve McClaren’s side is already five points adrift of safety and it is vital they turn things around as soon as they return from the latest international break.
Newcastle will now rely on Rob Elliot and Freddie Woodman to cover for Krul’s injury.
