According to a report in the Mirror, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been tipped to make a move for Swansea City ace Andre Ayew following his impressive form this season.
Ayew only joined the Swans over the summer, yet his form of four goals in eight Premier League starts has already made headlines, and Klopp knows of his talents from his former Marseille days.
The newly-appointed German coach is expected to push for new additions in the January transfer window, with speculation mounting over potential moves for his former Dortmund players.
However, the Mirror report the Reds boss’ first attempted acquisition may be closer to home and after failing in two attempts to sign him while at Dortmund, Ayew will be the subject of a third attempt from Klopp.
Potential stumbling block:
Considering Ayew is only two months into life at Swansea, the major stumbling block in any potential move for the Ghana international will be Swansea City’s likely inflated price-tag.
The Swans know they have a superb player on their hands, and as the season progresses there is every chance Ayew will grow further and become an even more influential player at the Liberty Stadium.
Aside from his four goals, the 25-year-old has averaged 2.1 shots and 1.3 key passes per league match.
It’s not yet known how much Klopp will have to spend in January though if there is one guarantee, Liverpool will struggle to secure the signing of any renowned player for a moderate, fair price.
