Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul has taken to social networking site Twitter to comment on the injury he picked up on Saturday evening.
The 27-year-old suffered a knee injury during the Netherlands’ Euro 2016 qualifier against Kazakhstan in Astana.
Krul had to leave the Astana Arena on crutches (as shown in the photo above) and later posted the following message on Twitter:
Gutted to come off with an injury tonight. Thanks for all the get well wishes. I will know more about the extent of the injury after scans— Tim Krul (@TimKrul) October 10, 2015
Netherlands manager Danny Blind told Tuttomercatoweb.com: "It remains to be seen about the situation of the latter (Krul), but he seems to have been injured heavily.”
The Oranje won the game 2-1, thanks to goals from Newcastle United midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum and Wesley Sneijder.
The Netherlands are now fourth in Group A with 13 points from nine matches, two points behind third-place Turkey.
One suspects that Newcastle fans will be worried at the injury suffered by Krul, who has been at the club his entire career so far.
