Report outlines why Hatem Ben Arfa wants Premier League return

Former Newcastle United winger Hatem Ben Arfa is reportedly interested in returning to the Premier League.

Former Newcastle United winger Hatem Ben Arfa wants to return to the Premier League, according to The Sun.

The France international is on the books of Ligue 1 outfit Nice at the moment and has been playing well this season.

The 28-year-old has scored six goals and created five chances in nine league matches for Nice so far this campaign.

Ben Arfa has a pass accuracy of 80% and a shot accuracy of 65%, and has won four headers, 34 dribbles and three tackles.

While it seems that the attacker is happy in his native country, The Sun claims that he wants to move to the Premier League "to prove he was no flop at Newcastle".

According to the report in the British tabloid, the former Marseille star “has been in touch with top agents to see if there is a market for him in January”.

“The gifted attacker would push Nice to let him leave if the right club comes in,” added the report.

Ben Arfa was on the books of Newcastle from 2011 to 2015 after initially joining the Magpies on loan from Marseille.

During his time in England, the Frenchman also had a loan spell at Hull City, but he did not entirely convince everyone.

Although talented and capable of showing moments of genius, Ben Arfa lacked consistency.

It will be interesting to see if any Premier League clubs make a move for the winger in the January transfer window.
