Report: Bilic could go in for Tore again, with West Ham boss calling him a 'legend'

The West Ham boss is a big fan of the 23-year-old.

West Ham United could move for Besiktas winger Gokhan Tore once again in January, according to the Brentwood Gazette.

Indeed, West Ham tried to recruit the Turkish winger in the summer but could return for the 23-year-old in the winter, with Tore having worked with their manager before.

West Ham head coach Slaven Bilic has called him a 'legend' and says he would 'love' to have a player like him within his ranks at Upton Park.

Bilic is quoted as telling the Turkish press by the Gazette: "Gokhan is a legend, he is a top guy and a great player. Of course I would love to have him in the team.

"I tried to sign him at the start of the season but it was not the right time."

Width or no width

West Ham's need for width was obvious in August, leading the east London club to the recruitment of both Victor Moses and Michail Antonio.

Further width wouldn't do any harm, with a potential January move for Tore only serving to increase the depth of the West Ham squad.

That said, Antonio is yet to feature for the Hammers and signing Tore may make life even more difficult for the 25-year-old.

But, when the manager is such a big fan of the player, it would seem almost cruel to keep them from reuniting.
