The Newcastle United goalkeeper has been ruled out for the season with a knee injury.

Ayoze Perez was quick to send a warm message to Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul on Sunday evening, after his club confirmed the Dutch goalkeeper will miss the rest of the season with a ruptured ACL in his right knee.
But even more heartfelt was the tribute paid by former Newcastle midfielder and eternal fan favourite Jonas Gutierrez.
@TimKrul just hear about you injured. Hope you get well soon. Be strong my friend. You r going to came back strong.— Jonas Gutierrez (@elgalgojonas) October 11, 2015
It's a huge blow for Newcastle, of course, and would be for any team if their no.1 was ruled out for the season.
That said, the irony is Krul has now guaranteed himself some sympathy and support. In a way, he is lucky to be out of the firing line.
For the Magpies themselves, though, if they are to sort out elementary issues in both midfield and defence, the absence of their main shot stopper may not be so traumatic.
Krul will be missed regardless, though, of that there is no doubt. And both defender Paul Dummett and loaned-out forward Haris Vuckic joined Perez and Gutierrez in wishing the Newcastle shot stopper all the best.
It's a big price to pay for a trip to Kazakhstan, as an ACL injury is one of the worst you can suffer - not just in football. The 27-year-old will also be a big loss for the Netherlands national side, of course...
