The Tottenham Hotspur defender played for Wales in their Euro 2016 qualifying match this weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies played a vital role for Wales during their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, and the 22-year-old has now experienced what it feels like to qualify for a major international tournament.
Davies played as one of a back-three for Chris Coleman’s side against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Saturday, and while Wales lost 2-0 on the night Cyprus’s unexpected victory against Israel ensured the visitors qualified for their first tournament since 1958.
Swansea City left-back Neil Taylor played wider for Coleman’s side on Saturday with Davies operating in a more unfamiliar central role and it was interesting to see how fans thought the Tottenham player performed.
Davies has now been capped 14 times for Wales and having seemingly won the battle with Danny Rose to be Tottenham’s regular left-back, he is now set to play a vital role for his country at this summer’s competition.
After the match we took to Twitter to see what fans thought of the Tottenham player’s latest performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
Nothing against Neil Taylor, but could we put in Chester or Collins at CB and move Ben Davies to full-back? Davies offers more going forward— Huw Davies (@thehuwdavies) October 10, 2015
