The Arsenal midfielder will be one of the players in action at next summer's tournament so what do Gunners fans think?
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey will not be used to celebrating defeats, but the one he experienced on Saturday was a little different.
Wales lost 2-0 to Bosnia Herzegovina at the weekend but Cyprus’s victory against Israel saw Chris Coleman’s side qualify for Euro 2016 with time to spare.
It is a massive achievement for a Wales side that has not reached a major tournament in the lifetime of any of their current players, and Arsenal fans were quick to congratulate their midfielder following the news.
Ramsey played the entire match at the weekend and while he could not prevent his country from losing, the result was quickly forgotten in the euphoria that followed.
Ramsey has played 11 matches for Arsenal so far this season, but the 24-year-old is yet to score or assist; something he will be desperate to change when he returns from international duty.
With 37 goals and 35 assists in 236 matches for Arsenal, Ramsey has grown into a key player for Arsene Wenger’s side; and the same can now be said at international level, with the midfielder set for a very exciting few months both for his club and for his country.
After Wales’ match we took to Twitter to see what Arsenal fans had to say about Ramsey’s achievement and you can read a selection of what we found below:
