All three clubs added midfielders to their squad over the summer, with Aston Villa snapping up Jordan Veretout and Idrissa Gueye, Everton bringing in Tom Cleverley, and West Ham sealing moves for Alex Song and Pedro Obiang.
Yet, even after all those moves, it's now being reported that all three teams are vying for the signature of Fluminense midfielder Jean.
Calcio Mercato report that Villa, Everton and West Ham are all looking to sign Jean during the January transfer window, with the Brazilian ace attracting plenty of interest.
Jean, 29, has carved out a lengthy career in Brazil, and having racked up over 100 appearances for Sao Paulo, the midfielder then moved on to rivals Fluminense, initially on loan, before a permanent move in 2013.
With six Brazil caps to his name, Jean has bags of experience to offer, and primarily plays in front of the back four, but he can also play at full back, offering great versatility to any club that chooses to pursue him.
It's rare that Premier League clubs look to sign players direct from South America, with teams usually waiting until they have proven themselves in Europe first. Players such as Willian, Ramires, Radamel Falcao, Marcos Rojo and Luis Suarez all found their way to the Premier League via European sides, but Jean could buck the trend and end up moving straight to English football, if reports are to be believed.
