Newcastle United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the appointment of Sam Allardyce as the Sunderland manager.
The former West Ham United boss has been made the new Sunderland manager on a two-year contract.
Allardyce was without a managerial job, having left Premier League outfit West Ham at the end of the 2014-15 campaign.
The 60-year-old becomes the first manager to take charge of both Newcastle and Sunderland.
Allardyce was the Magpies’ boss from May 2007 to January 2008 and left them by mutual consent.
The Englishman was in charge of Newcastle for 24 games, but fans did not like the way his side played football.
Allardyce’s first home game in charge of Sunderland will be against Newcastle in the Premier League later this month.
Following the announcement of Allardyce’s appointment as the Black Cats’ boss on Friday, Newcastle fans took to Twitter to have their say.

Allardyce is exactly what Sunderland need. Seriously concerned about the Derby now. #nufc— Julio Taylor (@juliotaylor) October 9, 2015
The mackems will definitely beat us with Allardyce as manager. They'll scrap and fight. #nufc— Callum Butler (@cal239) October 9, 2015
Let's hope allardyce is as good for the scum as he was for us! Their tactics to win a derby is getting tiresome. #NUFC— REK (@REKWALKER) October 9, 2015
Can't wait for every football fan in the country to tell us what we could have had with Allardyce, despite it being ancient history. #nufc— James Harrison (@mrbeast06) October 9, 2015
