The 32-year-old Bhoys midfielder believes there is plenty to come from Celtic's young contingent.
Commons is quoted as saying by the GET: "We've still got a very young team with Kieran making his Europa debut against Fenerbahce. So for him to play against that sort of opposition and still do extremely well is a credit to him.
"Dedryck Boyata is young, Tyler Blackett is young so we've got a young back four that's not played a lot of football together.
"The more games you play, though, the more confident you are and if you play against that sort of opposition and you play well, then that gives you the foundation and the belief that you do belong there."
The current international break has come at a good time for Celtic. The odd disappointment - and poor performance - can now be forgotten as Ronny Deila's side have the opportunity for a fresh start.
The Bhoys are very much in a strong position within their Europa League group despite only drawing their opening two games. Celtic are also now just one point behind Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, having been let off by the Dons in the last couple of weeks.
As Commons states, meanwhile, there is plenty of youth within the Hoops' ranks. And that's something boss Deila will no doubt be a big fan of. If the younger players come together with time, Celtic will likely finish stronger than they have started.
