Jan Vertonghen slammed on Twitter for awful defending against Andorra

Andorra scored a surprised goal against Belgium and fans weren't happy with the Tottenham Hotspur defender.

Usually, conceding a goal during a 4-1 win isn't a big deal. But, when that goal comes against Andorra, with all respect to the international minnows, pride is hurt.

That was the case for Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen on Saturday night, with Belgium conceding a penalty after some of his defending.

And he was duly slammed by fans on Twitter for producing an 'awful' moment.

As stated, it's not the biggest of deals. Vertonghen is now celebrating qualifying for Euro 2016 with Belgium and enjoying a centre-back partnership alongside Toby Alderweireld at both club and international level.

Of the two of them, though. it's probably the latter that is performing the better. And Belgian supporters weren't too happy with the former after the win over Andorra.

The Spurs man has been better so far this season but it seems he has a bit of a reputation for producing rash moments at international level. He'll need to cut them out during the finals at France 2016, of course, where top sides will likely punish individual mistakes.

Here's how fans reacted on Twitter to the Tottenham centre-back's weekend performance...
