The giant centre forward has stated that the club have the players to fire them up the table.
The Villa Park outfit have had a slow start to the new season, with only four points amassed from their first eight games suggesting that Tim Sherwood’s men could be set for a relegation struggle this season.
Part of the reason for the less-than ideal beginning to the campaign is the amount of new players that have arrived at Villa over the summer, with powerhouse forward Gestede one of the new faces.
Despite things looking dire for Sherwood’s men at the moment, the Benin international has stated that the club have the required personnel to fire themselves away from the lower echelons of the division.
“We can only improve now,” Gestede told The Birmingham Mail.
“We did well in the first few games so now if we can improve our understanding the team will be much better. I have got confidence in that.
“I know from what I’ve seen in training we’ve got the quality in the team. The new players bring something different and when you speak with the older players they say that too.
“The atmosphere is good and everyone is pushing in the same way.”
Villa’s solitary victory of the campaign came on the first day of the season away to Bournemouth, with Gestede heading home the winner.
The Birmingham-based outfit have a trip to Stamford Bridge next weekend to face reigning champions Chelsea after the international break.
