The former Celtic star clearly rates one of the Bhoys' current players.
Former Celtic player John Hartson believes Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths should start for Scotland; something that did not happen when Gordan Strachan’s side took to the field against Poland on Thursday night.
Griffiths has scored 12 goals in just 18 matches for Celtic this season and he has a total of 39 in 73 matches for the Bhoys since he arrived at the club, but he is not currently a first-choice pick for his country with Strachan opting for Steven Fletcher for the vital Euro 2016 qualifying match.
Griffiths started Thursday’s match on the bench but when Hartson was asked on Twitter who he would pick shortly before the line-ups were announced, the Welshman was quick to put his weight behind the Celtic star.
It was short and sweet, one-word response to the question but it will be a while longer before Hartson gets his wish.
Still, if Griffiths keeps scoring for Celtic he will get more chances from the start in time.
