Danny Simpson loving life at Leicester City

King Power Stadium - Stormy

Leicester City defender Danny Simpson made his first Premier League appearance of the season last weekend.

Danny Simpson has told Leicester City's official site of his delight at still being part of the squad at the King Power Stadium.

There were doubts over whether the right-back would remain with the Foxes over the summer, as reported by the Leicester Mercury, but no move materialised.

And, after making his first Premier League appearance of the season for Leicester in their 2-1 win against Norwich City, Simpson is now back enjoying his football again.

“It is all about playing football for me," he said. "All the lads, the whole squad, have been top class and there is a really great feeling about the place and the fans.

"This is a great time to be at Leicester and it is nice to still be part of it. I haven't played for a while and I am trying to get up to full fitness, but it was nice to be back involved – and to be part of a good away win [against Norwich].

"I seized up a little towards the end and had to come off but I have a couple of weeks now to recover and get back training ready for the next game."

Simpson put in an excellent performance against Norwich, as Claudio Ranieri's side continued their fantastic start to the new campaign.

The Foxes have still only lost once in all competitions, and they are currently sitting in fifth place in the Premier League table.

Ranieri's start at the King Power Stadium could hardly have gone any better, but he will hope that the international break does not halt his side's momentum.

Leicester return to action on October 17, when they take on an in-form Southampton side at St. Mary's.
