Alan Shearer reacts on Twitter to Allardyce appointment, explains his previous comments

Sam Allardyce

Sam Allardyce’s first home game in charge of Sunderland will be against Newcastle United later this month.

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to the appointment of Sam Allardyce as the Sunderland manager.

The former Newcastle and West Ham United boss has been given the role at the Stadium of Light on a two-year contract.

Allardyce will replace Dutchman Dick Advocaat, who left the Premier League outfit earlier this month.

Former Newcastle striker Shearer has given his take on the situation on Twitter, claiming that his English compatriot will have Sunderland fired up for the game against the Magpies later this month.

The former England international has also explained his earlier claim that Allardyce will not accept the Sunderland job.

Allardyce’s first game in charge of Sunderland will be against West Bromwich Albion away from home at The Hawthorns in the Premier League after the international break. Thereafter the Black Cats will face Newcastle at the Stadium of Light.
