Slaven Bilic has made an excellent start as West Ham United manager.

James Collins has told the Daily Mail that everyone at West Ham United is enjoying life under the stewardship of Slaven Bilic.

Bilic returned to the East End over the summer, inheriting the reins from Sam Allardyce, and Collins has praised the set-up the Croatian has created at Upton Park.

The experienced central defender has praised Bilic's coaching team, his tactics and the entertaining training sessions that he puts on.

"He's spot on, the gaffer - the boys have really reacted to him," Collins said. "The board made some tremendous signings in the summer, and they've all settled in straight away.

"The fans loved him from the off because he was such a good player here. He was onto a winner straight away. If the West Ham fans like you you're halfway there.

"His tactics, training sessions and the coaches he's got with him are spot on. The lads are really enjoying training and the gaffer's methods. The fans like good football and the players working hard."

Bilic has made a fine start to life at West Ham, and he has led the side into sixth place in the Premier League table.

The basis of this success has been the tactical approach adopted by Bilic, with his side looking to pose plenty of problems on the counter.

The London club have added pace and creativity over the summer, and wins over Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool on their travels have highlighted the threat they pose.

Spirits are currently running high at West Ham, with the side returning to action after the international break with a game against Crystal Palace.
