The simple reason Everton fans should not get overexcited over Andriy Yarmolenko's agent Facebook post

The agent clearly posted the picture of him at Goodison Park from Kiev.

Yesterday saw the agent of Dynamo Kiev winger Andriy Yarmolenko have Everton fans in a flutter after posting a teasing picture on his Facebook page.

It showed Vadim Shabliy, the agent of the exceptional Ukrainian winger, posing for a photo at Goodison Park and refueled rumours that the player will be on his way to Everton in the near future, seeing as Shabliy is apparently in Liverpool.

However, Everton fans should temper that anticipation ever so slightly. Whilst this is undoubtedly Yarmolenko's agent at Goodison, it looks to be an old picture. Firstly, the sun is shining. Secondly, the location stamp on the picture suggests that Shabliy posted it from Kiev yesterday - some distance from Merseyside.

It only proves that Shabliy has been to Goodison recently, which we already sort of knew.

This summer it looked as though Everton were all set to pull off this transfer coup.

The Dynamo Kiev star, who had also been linked with Arsenal, Stoke City and Liverpool this summer, was reported by Sky Sports to be heading to the Premier League and joining Everton.

They reported that a £15 million move had been agreed but then, a matter of days later, Sky Sports claimed Everton’s interest was dead in the water.

Everton had started negotiations over a move too late and Kiev refused the deal.

However, there is certainly still a chance that Everton might get him for next season. His contract expires in the summer and he is all set to leave the club.
