The 19-year-old Aston Villa winger is in fine form while on loan at Dundee.
The 19-year-old is predominantly a left winger although he can also play as a left-back or a central midfielder if required and his early performances in Scotland have allegedly not gone unnoticed at Villa Park.
Calder has played four matches for Dundee to date and in his latest performance he provided two assists in a 2-1 victory against Motherwell.
It has taken the Villa teenager little time to settle in his new surroundings and he has started Dundee’s last two matches, after coming off the bench against Partick Thistle and Celtic earlier in the campaign.
The Birmingham Mail claims Calder is already a fan favourite at Dundee and that Villa’s loan manager Tommy Mooney has travelled up to Scotland to watch him in action, returning with a very favourable report.
Calder is of an age when he will be desperate to break into Villa’s first-team after 38 appearances for their under-21s, and this loan spell could be exactly what he needs.
